Taking advantage of the Fohn effect bringing some warm weather, I headed down to south wales on sunday. Night fall saw me restoring my tissues with the help of some highland single malt and fine food from a south indian eatery. Headed off monday morning to Black mountain pass. Cup of tea at the Upper Brennamen cafe and into the mountain road which as you can see was foggy and then had a pretty good relaxing drive via Llangadog to Elan Valley for lunch and a brief walk around. As i had to get back that evening back to Yorkshire, made brisk progress back into Welshpool, Wrexham and into Yorkshire.
Despite having the 55 for about 1.5 years, this was my first proper road trip, and i have come back a happy man. The wave of torque from the V8 made overtaking effortless, so I was never stuck for a long time behind anyone, and the fact that I can get around when an opportunity came, made me patient behind convoys for a few minutes till they saw me disappearing into the horizon.
Although I have been a bit irritated with my car for being rattly with the roof up, its a joy with the roof down!!
