Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my 2002 Mercedes SLK R170 (2.0 Kompressor engine).
I reprogrammed the engine control unit, and since then:
****
I would like to point out that the reprogramming was carried out by a professional.
****
  • The car won't start anymore
  • The diagnostic case no longer detects the engine via OBD

Calculator information:

  • Type: Siemens SIM4 LE
  • Siemens Ref: 5WK9 0422
  • Mercedes Ref: A111 153 37 79
  • Memory: AM29F400BT

What I think:

  • The file I flashed may have been wrong or incomplete
  • The immobilizer (IMMO) may be active or mismanaged
  • The ECU is no longer communicating → maybe it doesn't even boot anymore

What I'm looking for:

I am looking for a .bin file compatible with this calculator, either:

  • In IMMO OFF (to start without a paired key)
  • Or in a blank version to reprogram it with Star Diagnosis

If anyone has this file or can help me, that would be great!
Thanks in advance 🙏

The problem with ECU "tuning" in them OLDER cars was the lack of people who "know" how to do it correct.
It sounds you have been "unlucky" to sit on that chair.
As a suggestion, can the guy who provided, whatever provided confirm there is no saved "original" bin file! Just to rule out damage!
The immo "off" is function that DAS provides (to the best of my novice DAS knowledge) - by default!

All I can think at the moment!

The person came on site with an AUTEL diagnostic tool. They started the vehicle, which started without issue. Then, they turned off the engine and connected to the OBD port. After reading the ECU, they disconnected it and left with the .bin file as well as the ECU.

When they returned and reconnected it, the car refused to start. I had anticipated this situation because I had ordered a second identical reference ECU. They then flashed the original .bin file onto this second ECU, and the problem occurred exactly the same way with the second ECU.

Hello

For the moment the suggestion that suggested to me, and that he is going to look for a new starter kit, to replace ECU, Immobilizer- and antenna

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But what worries me a little is knowing if I will have to replace my barrel, ignition switch, trunk and glove box.
Otherwise, is it possible to reprogram the current keys to avoid changing everything that opens with my keys?

Following my adventures, he came on 05/04/2025 with a new starter kit, ECU, key, immobilizer, and ignition switch. After assembling everything, the problem remains the same!

Looking more closely, we changed the K40 and put back my original ECU — jackpot, the car started!

At that point, we really started asking ourselves some serious questions about the why and how. Then suddenly, I thought about changing the K40, and that’s when the car finally started.
So I started inspecting the K40, and surprise: all the 15A fuses were fine, EXCEPT the 40A — it was blown apart!

now the car starts!
