Searching for parts/ advice

Hi everyone:

I have a 2001 SLK 320. My hood and fire wall insulation was damaged over the winter due to squirrels. I have been trying to find replacements for insurance to cover but the parts have been discontinued and I am struggling to find replacements.

Does anyone have any advice on where to look or what to do?

The parts I am trying to find are:

Hood insulator – 1706820226
Firewall Insulator – 1706821528 and 1706820404 (two separate parts)

You might find new but probably best at scrappers.

As you've got part numbers, any luck using Mr Google?

I did manage to see the ad for the hood insulation. However someone must have beat me to the purchase as 30 minutes later it was marked as sold! I appreciate your efforts though

Alternatives:

Hood: this. No idea if they ship to CA. I've only seen the trunk variant and it was okay. Easy to apply due to the segments.

Firewall: adhesive heat reflective sheet.

You'll lose the OE look and feel, though.

I don’t know if the firewall insulator from a 1999 230 SLK intercooler would be the same as what you need If it is, I can help with that part from my spare parts car

Checkout Dronsfields in Royton UK. They will ship anywhere, and are bona fide Merc breakers and in my experience ..experts.
