Hi guys,

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but hope it is... 😅

I'm looking for a rear deck spoiler (original or replica) of the R170 slk32 preferably in Europe, please.
as you can see on my profile, I live in sunny Portugal, so it would have to be shipped here, hence the preference for Europe based seller.

Hoping to hear from someone soon...
Cheers all!

The internet parts sources I see show backordered on genuine oem part, depending on color you want. Check with a MB dealer close to you, they may have some insight if still available and estimate of delivery time.

Otherwise, ebay or salvage yards.

If I remember correctly, this is the same spoiler as went on the 2004 SLK special edition models, so that may widen the donor pool somewhat.

Happy top down spirited motoring, aerodynamically.

Glad I found this post. On a similar topic, the paint on my rear spoiler for my '03 SLK32 is all peeling and crumby looking. However, the paint on the rest of the car is pretty good.
What's the best way to repaint them? Remove the spoiler or paint it while its on the car. I can do it either way but figured removing it would be easier. But, I cannot locate how it is removed. Thanks!!!

I have a 04 special edition with the spoiler. I was washing today and noticed that mine is loose on the left side.. looks to be foam under for paint protection or possible it's double sided tape? I would certainly expect nuts the inside.
I would remove the spoiler for your paint concern and the shop will save you money on masking your car off to paint such a small part. Most easily removed parts are cheaper to paint off the car.
Mirror, handles, trim parts, hinges are good examples.
Could you post pictures to help us remove the spoiler?

Thank you

Left side has loosened due to double sided tape failure
First I applied tape to mark it's location.. I then used a strong string (or fishing line) to cut through the double sided tape. Then for quick and easy cleanup of the tape I used an eraser type wheel for removal of stickers, decals and sticking things. This wheel can be found at automotive stores. No chemicals to remove the tape. Then used a cleaner to clean the deck.
Will reapply the spoiler with fresh double sided tape and an adhesive promoter

Removing the double sided tape with this eraser type wheel took about 15 minutes. Move around the deck to not make heat one area. Do some on right move to left side do center area and don't stay in one spot to long. It does create small heat and I have damaged paint on another vehicle.
The tape I have is to thin to use so I am looking for a thicker foam type tape.
