History
I am the third owner of the car, which I inherited from my mother. since 2009 ''family owned''.
My very first (car) and very Dutch SLK!!
I have been a proud owner since September 2024 (when it was given to me as a birthday gift), and I spend every minute learning something new about it.
I have restored the interior plastics myself with hot water, a microfiber towel, and a lot of patience.
Since almost every screwhole, plastic hinge, or anything remotely structural broke off like breadcrumbs, a hot glue gun is in my emergency kit.
I didn't want to reapply the inner paint, so I left it off. I waxed and protected the shell itself, and it looks in my opinion even better.
I peeled off the headliner because it was hanging, cleaned and sprayed gray primer on the cardboard. still have to finish it.
I also bought a new radio with built-in Bluetooth, and a screenlight that matched my cluster.
Recently glued new door panels, changed my headlights to LED's and made an inner aluminium frame to hold up the interior plastics.
so that no stress is pulling from the interior, it just looks nice and stock without anyone noticing.
Here are some photos. As a beginner photographer, I think I really pulled it off!
Sometimes I call my car Flipper, like the dolphin.
Most of my mates have super-tuned-out cars and have plushies in their cars.
So to participate, my car is silver, like a dolphin, so I named her Flipper.
