Policy for Not Safe For Work (NSFW) Content on Fora
The purpose of this policy is to ensure a secure and predictable environment for all users while maintaining freedom of expression within designated boundaries.
Definition of NSFW Content
NSFW content includes, but is not limited to, the following categories:
- Explicit Sexual Material: Visual or descriptive content depicting sexual acts, full nudity, or highly suggestive material. This includes anything that would be considered pornographic or adult in nature.
NSFW content that is not allowed anywhere on the service:
- Extreme Violence/Gore: Graphic depictions of violence, severe injury, mutilation, or death that are shocking or disturbing.
- Hate Speech/Illegal Content: Content promoting illegal acts, harassment, or discrimination against protected groups, even if presented in an "adult" context. (Note: This is prohibited site-wide, regardless of board designation.)
Access and Board Restrictions
NSFW content must be strictly confined to designated nodes that are clearly labeled "NSFW." These nodes will have mandatory access restrictions to ensure accidental exposure is minimized. Fora is implementing a system that requires users to meet specific criteria before gaining access.
Access Requirements

| Account Age | The account must be at least 7 days old. | Mitigates drive-by posting, spam accounts, and rapid creation of alternate accounts. |
| User Opt-In | Users must explicitly acknowledge and accept an NSFW disclaimer in your Account Settings upon first attempt to access a designated board. | Confirms user consent to view adult material and affirms understanding of the associated risks. |
If you have not achieved the above requirements, then you will not see the NSFW node(s). If you qualify under the requirements above but receive an error message when attempting to access the node(s) you will need to check the "Display flagged forums and their contents" acknowledgment in your Account Settings.
Content Moderation and Enforcement
All content, including content posted in NSFW forums, remains subject to Fora's site-wide Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Content that violates national or international law (e.g., child sexual abuse material, illegal solicitation, threats) is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate permanent banning and reporting to relevant authorities. Content outside of NSFW nodes is generally expected to adhere to a PG-13 level guideline.

This policy is subject to review and amendment as the platform evolves, community standards shift, and legal requirements change.
