My guess is that it would work. In my case, I found a wrecked SLK230 the same year as mine. I went to look at it before I made the purchase, the car was not hit in the front so they sold me the pump/module assembly for $150. Original Module: Replacement module:

LAZARU5, Nice write up...might help others having the same issues. Just to add, I had to replace the module on my '01 SLK230 due to the ABS Pump running continuously even with engine off/key out. My old one was a Q5 and replaced it with a donor Q6.

On my RHD SLK230: With trunk open, look up under the main cylinder on the right side, you should see the S69/11 switch. Make sure the switch is fully seated into the mount. If it looks like it is securely seated, push the lever in that operates the switch to see if it goes in and returns...

Yes, just enough to remove the module. Is the 320 module thicker than the 230 module?
  5. R170-SLK General Discussion
As I recall, I had to pull the pump forward just enough to pull out the module. Glad it's installed on those rubber bushings.

I removed the fuse box surround and it gave me a bit more clearance.

Looks like the original vinyl failed and it was recovered with a fabric material, very common. At least yours didn't get wet too bad. While you're dealing with removing cylinders you can remove the fabric and start cleaning the fluid off the board. I had success using lacquer thinner each day...

I was going to ask you about the headliner, I'd be surprised if it's the original. I bought my 2001 new, always garaged, and in 2012 it completely fell down. I replaced it with a new one from MB and it also failed in 2020. I recovered it with a charcoal foam backed fabric and like it better...

The repair on yours was the easy way out, just cut the lines, rebuild the cylinder and reinstall using couplers. Sounds like you have a nice '01 320, if you are planning on keeping the car I would contact TopHydraulics and talk to Klaus about exchanging yours for a rebuilt one, or having yours...

It has to be the front cylinder leaking, and like Klaus states...remove all 5 cylinders and have them rebuilt. It's worth the peace of mind. The only other thing I can think of for hydraulic fluid leaking on the passenger side only is if someone installed a hose coupler in that location.

Your left side linkage doesn't look like it was installed correctly.

So the key fob doesn't unlock the trunk, the key just turns, and the trunk is also locked down at the front location, so zero access to the trunk. That's my idea of a double whammy. If you can't find any solution to unlock/open the trunk, you might have to submit to the extreme solution. Cut...

Are you referring to this area of the roof?

Great information. Now I have a craving for a Nanaimo Bar. ;)

I've experienced a loose heatshield noise on other cars. On my '01 SLK I had a similar noise coming from a broken weld on my exhaust system that varied with RPM's. I replaced the rear section (#8) like shown on the diagram below and noise problem resolved.

Just to add, when I removed my front cylinder to send it off to TopHydraulics, I found this cable pinched under a clip. It came from the factory like this and I made sure it was not pinched when I put things back together.

Do you have a meter to check continuity? Like efair stated, when the boot is down the switch is open. When the boot is up, the switch is closed. If the switch isn't closing when the boot is up, you aren't sending a ground to pin 52 at the N10-3 Module. So with an ohmeter, check the S69-9...

Does your headliner have the big foam pieces glued in place on both sides? I don't have a photo of the underside, but you see the foam on the left and right side.
