So, heading over the Pond next month for a wedding in Las Vegas..
(Sorry not ours, hence why no invites..!!)

But staying on afterwards to do a quick ~2000 mile Road Trip.... :D

The route is planned & accomadation booked, but still pondering on what Hire Car to book...?

Due to being away for a good 3 weeks + wedding gear...
We won't be travelling (SLK) light which kind of rules out a muscle car, certainly the current Mustang which has a small boot opening from what I've seen on YouTube.

A UK SLK owner who also has a Toyota Rav4, recommened one of them - Apparently the US version is a bit longer, so would hopefully have a bigger trunk?

But any thoughts on what Hire Car to make it a more memerable trip?

The best thing for us by far in Las Vegas was the Pinball Museum. Located off of the strip it looks just like any other white building until you go inside (googling looks like it might have changed outside in recent years) A fantastic assortment of machines lie inside. A margarine tub full of coins that you purchase inside means you can spend all afternoon there and it seems like minutes.

Several rental companies have BMW X3/X5/X7 for rentals.

We had reserved an X3 for a wedding week and travel last October, and when we arrived to pick it up they politely upgraded us to the X7, saying the X3 was out for service or had not been returned yet. The X7 wound up being like $59/day.

The X7 was an amazing machine, and rocked the trip and curvy roads.

Thought it rude not to update this thread:

Reading up before hand, apparently good SLK owners go to a retirement respite home in Florida and bad SLK owners go to Vegas...!!:ROFLMAO:

Hmmm - So our experience of Las Vegas.....

Started with a good 10.5 hour BA flight direct into Las Vegas, and advised by cabin crew to "leave reality at the airplane door….."

Yepp, they where right, with ever hotel trying to out spend each other on how impressive they can look... Apparently they also have Casino's?, but I'm an Engineer and the odd's on the main str!p are not good...

But still had an amazing experience, with over 22,500 steps clocked up on our first full day... Also saw quite a few of these self driving cars going back and forth - Soon to be driver less Taxi's apparently...?

Day two (Friday) started with a cold North wind a "Technical Problem" with the Blue Sky...

But they did manage to sort it out for the afternoon and our evening visit to the Neon Museum was really interesting, chatting to the staff (y)

Saturday: Not as many steps, but in the evening managed to get some tickets to see The Eagles @ The Spear. (Yellow blob in the above picture) Wow, and double Wow... We where seated right at the top, but the 16K resolution surround screen, for over 18,000 people was just pure amazing:

With special graphics especially for the Eagles concert - Can just make out the stage, right at the bottom:

The "Hotel California" graphics where well cool - Can upload to YouTube, if you don't mind Carole singing along in the back ground...!!

Sunday was The Wedding Day, held in Downtown Las Vegas: (Name this car?)

With Elvis making a rare appearance to conduct the ceremony - Thought it rude not to blag a picture: (I just need to practice the Viva Las Vegas moves...)

While the Bride and Groom went off to have pictures taken, we all headed to Fremont Street (where Las Vegas started in 1905) - Here checking out the sharp edges of a Cyber Truck:

The wedding reception was held at "Maggiano's Little Italy" on the 2nd floor of a building. Great meal, but just a bit worrying that both elevator doors had bullet holes in them..!!

So that was our Vegas experience, standby for Road Trip pictures....
