Needed a second key for my newer 350 and did a search. Found this fellow on Yelp.
One positive review showed a pic of the classic Mercedes smart key!
This fellow is a licensed mobile locksmith serving the east bay. He agreed to meet at a McDonalds parking lot within his service range. Took about 30m to suck up the password from original key and then transfer to a new key supplied by the tech. Supplier of blank keys only sells to licensed locksmiths. Tech used an app on an Ipad for the decoding/transfer that had a peripheral attached to plug our keys in. Also connected to the OBDII port.
Cost was $225 including the new smart key! Tested all functions including working the top, panic alarm etc. Drove home immediately using new key and alls well!
