Advice needed please. I’m looking at changing the electric roof switch in the centre console of my daughters SLK as the folding cover has broken at the hinge.Do I need to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery before removing the switch? Thanks.

It's recommended to remove neg terminal when undergoing any electrical work. If its a simple unplug and replug new switch, I probably wouldn't but the decision is yours!
It’s either that or try to repair the broken lid. Tried glueing it back on with super glue but no luck.
