I got it . . Jay appreciate your humor, seriously I like it. And it goes to the very point I was making, the entire topic of ‘Poser’ does no one any good. It is very devisive and puts most on either the attack or defending side. I have a great sense of humor . . To the point of who would pose to have a SLK300. I am guilty. Here is my contribution of what we call in Australia “Slut Shaming”’ meaning a car that has been badged out of it’s correct variant. It’s pretty much a no no especially on Euros (MB, BMW, AUDI)
Initially but no excuse, when I modified the side mirror Puddle Lights I used only what was supposed to be temporary and for trial purposes only. This was all I had in hand at the time left over from another car as these Laser style lights cost a fair bit!!!
Now I’m too “lazy and tight” to shell out for what I should have correctly is either a three point logo on its own, or the same of what I have with the AMG lettering replaced with “Mercedes” or the other surly is three point round with the word “Mercedes” my initial preference what inspired me to do this in the first place. If you have ever fully dismantled the side mirrors on the R172 you know what I mean, it's not just the physical mirror, it's also the Dam wiring routing what a pain to re-do!! Seriously you only want to do each once!
I think my laziness is just going to leave them in there until I decide I want to modify the mirrors again and install cameras for 360’degree view. What do you think keep them or exchange them at $100AUD each!!! Plus my getting used to them!
The other shameful item is the door guards, but you cannot see them from the outside? Passable ? Tell me what you guys think. I found out i can peel the AMG chrome off.
