I am visiting family in the Bremen area. While walking to the Straßenbahn stop I espied this very nice looking R172.

Don't know the type as there weren't any badges on the back except the Merc star. I have noticed that many of the MBs here are debadged, not limited to SLKs or sport cars but include sedans, estates and the SUVs.

It’s rather common practice to de badge the cars in the Fatherland;) subtle hints like quad pipes/ smoked tail lights or spoilers differentiate enough for connoisseurs!
North America is keen on showing off where as Japan appears to “fake AMG” every entry model from the Benz lineup:)

I guess it is true. Went to a used car dealership and this caught my eye as I had been looking for one. I looked all over this vehicle for badges to determine the model, but no hints. Twin tailpipes, subdued lights, no turn signals, noisy while driving, and smokes like the dickens; but does have an automatic transmission and full size spares. But they got the rust proofing overspray everywhere, the color options are, frankly, quite limited, and let's not even mention fuel economy....

Even with all that, it all came down to the fact that it doesn't fit in my garage, so I had to take a pass...
