Just got back from a 2,250km (1,400mile) round trip in my 1999 R170

Proud as punch of my old girl ?

We drove her from home here in Germany, through France and through the Euro Tunnel (with a stop-off in London) - up to parents' in Nottinghamshire......and back.

2,250 kilometre round trip - about 1,400 miles - in 2 weeks.

And you know what? She never missed a beat. Not bad for a 16 year old car, eh?

Proud as punch ?

PS - Sarge, I posted this in general discussion so everyone can see how great these cars are ☺. Move it if it triggers your OCD ?

Great to hear how these old gals can still deliver when looked after properly.


And that folk still make use of them for the big trips.

Wouldn't expect anything less! Look after your SLK and it'll/she'll/he'll look after you. :D
