Caught up to these 2 mustangs.. white one just minding his business.
black one just revving and trying to make white one race, etc
So I caught up and just blew pass the black one. He tried to catch up until I let him.
He looked at me funny, maybe because I had top down and Chuckles was my copilot.

Oh here's Chuckles

Sorry for bumpy picture. Dashcam was not secure and i kept hitting the road reflectors also.

Next time, throw in a few bends & maybe a roundabout or two (if you have such things in Florida?) to get the tail end to step out jbanks.
You might need the opposite lock practice for when you meet a Mustang owner who can really drive his car. On a twisty country road, not a highway.

Talking of twisty country roads. I watched the Dukes Of Hazzard movie recently. I wonder how many lovely old Dodge Chargers were destroyed during the making of that movie? 😞

we have like 2 round abouts in florida
and there are no mountains so very few twisting roads
and we also have no parallel parking :D

see my other mustang vids... i find very few i cannot handle, thank you :D

@slk55amgbob

I see that you were 😡 about my comment in this thread ages ago. Why was that, was it a mistake mate?

If not, surely you realise that although an SLK AMG 55 is definitely a fast car in a straight line.
But when compared with something with half the CC's & approximately half the weight. It will get knocked into a cocked hat ref it's handling.

Therefore from A to B on a twisty road. Where driving skills are waaaay more important that huge bhp. A proper lightweight sports car would very easily embarrass an SLK 55.

Having said that, a genuine sports car undoubtedly wouldn't be as comfortable as a long distance GT car.
Consequently, in an ideal world we all need a 7 car garage 😃

Thanks for the heads up Mr Banks.
But please take onboard what I said in my previous comment mate.
Or wait until a SLK 55 AMG owner in the UK chips in.

With only 2 roundabouts & presumably no switchback bends in Florida. Your car sounds absolutely ideal for the local terrain.
But please try to comprehend what I'm saying Sir. Especially in the UK/European market.

Any SLK/SLC is only considered to be a luxurious GT car.

In UK
55 owner

Only seen Mustangs play in a straight line, mostly in town, or leaving car parks.
But what is a Mustang considered to be? Young bucks toy? Old mans final fling?

Seems a fair fight.

The most impressive drivers that I witness are the R170 guys.
The most impressive handling cars? Scooby Doos, however, there are a lot of keen rally drivers in the region & you might just get into battle with 'classic' rally cars (Escorts are loved) or even current world & British rally competitors.

Personally I don't worry about the other cars. Far too happy in my own V8 world.
Nowt out there has tempted me into left foot braking.

I agree 100%
A 5.0 V8 Mustang is in the same category as an SLK 55 AMG. But without the luxury element or the prestigious badge.

I'm not saying that either car is a bad car. But what do you think Colin Chapman of Lotus fame would of made of either of them?

He might be relieved at reduced cost of a chiroprator for the 55.

ps There are 2 Lotus Cortinas at least in the area.

The 171 SLK was built primarily as a continental cruiser, which it is one of the best in category.
SLR is too pricey for me to run as an everyday car.
The SLK is a roadster, though we do refer to them as sports cars.

Mustang vs SLK as same?
Not for me.

Mustang is primarily a family tin top and nowt wrong with that.
As a cabriolet I'd vote SLK every time.

Not dissing the 'Stang, I quite like them, but not an SLK.

Whilst I do see an occasional group of 'Stangs on motorway and A roads they are very rare on the roads that we do our tours and runs on.
I've seen a lot more Astons, Jags & a similar number of Bentleys.
Has to be a reason for that as there is a huge Mustang club in the UK.

In cabriolet terms then MX, Z, TT, Porsche and old British cars are similarly popular to the SLKs on those roads.
Trend there. Germans make interesting cars.

I'm not doubting for a moment that your car is very fast in a straight line Mr Banks.

But my point is obviously totally lost in translation. So I give up Sir.

No, your point is good but irrelevant to Mr Bank's situation. He is where he is and has his car fun with whoever he chooses, not everyone feels the urge to race on a race circuit, particularly using the lightest best handling car available. Power has a challenge all of it's own, something that some don't understand.
