Just wanted to say Hi finally, as Ive been referencing this forum for a couple years now for various things! Located in the US!

In 2024, I purchased a 2014 SLK250 with the sport trim, and I have really really loved this car, it is just an insurmountable boost of happiness every time I get into the driver's seat.

At purchase, she had 35K miles, and still had 2014 tires on, along with many other issues. Since purchase I have gotten:

New Brakes + Fluid Flush
Two full sets of new tires
New radiator
All new struts (I wish I bagged her instead!)
New Driver-side Fender (the first car work I have ever done myself!!!)

Shes currently at 68K miles and due for spark plugs and transmission service which is scheduled for next week!

I am a colorful person, and while most of our local Benz owners tend to keep their rides very minimal and sleek, I wanted to make my colorful, fun, and maybe a tad tacky and obnoxious. Im now recognized all across town 😆

My next goal is to get a valved catback system installed, which I have already saved up for. I would love to add a bit more torque, and after the catback is installed, I will probably look into some tuning as well.

I want to get the hardtop mods that dont require holding the button for so long and also allows the small back windows to go up. And eventually some 3 spoke wheels!

I live in a mountainous region, and shes been fantastic to take into the canyons and winding roads. Cornering in this thing is crazy, and she has truly served me well.

All in all, Hello, I love my car and this car has brought me so many new friends, experiences, skills, and knowledge and I couldnt be happier....except if I were the lady in town that owns the SL65 😝

It had a slight front hit when I purchased her and I noticed the gap from the hood to the front bumper is off after I had my body shop work on it after searching for a bumper for months.
Is that gap from hood to bumper normal or is it off? Anyhow I’ll have them adjust it. Thoughts?

Looks off to me! Mine is almost flush against the bumper, similar to the right side in your first photo. Yours seems to come slightly off alignment as it runs toward the other side.

I am absolutely not a professional, so after installing my fender, there is a very slight misalignment where the hood meets the fender (fender is just a few mm higher). No one else seems to be able to tell but as the owner, I notice it ALL the time :)

OK, thanks for the clarification. I had a hunch it seemed off. I’ll have them adjust it. Will send pics next week of the adjustment. You know Miami has some skilled labor but it comes at a price.
I’ll never forget my business professor at the university here said, “You could never get fast, cheap and good at the same time!”
It’s going to be cheap it’s not going to be good.
If it’s good, it’s not going to be cheap!
And if it’s fast, it’s not going to be good.
🙏🤌✌
