I know this might cringe/upset some of the professional mechanics we have on here, and I apologise for that! I am in no way trained as mechanic and therefore my DIY work isn’t up to the best standard, but I enjoy working on my car and (hopefully I don’t!) even if I break it at least I was giving it a go! So please be nice to my untrained abilities.
anyway, disclaimer over!
First you start by removing the air box and connected pipes (to the front and to the big black oil catch can intake thingy ma-bob).
then you remove the big black air intake oil catch can thing. There is a jubilee clip on the throttle body at front to undo and 3 bolts at the back - 2 are easily seen and one is hiding behind the metal heat shield, all 3 are star bolts (apologies don’t know their technical name!).
You then need to be careful of the black tubes feeding into the top of it - you don’t wanna break them if you don’t have replacements lined up. Disconnect it from the black air box end and you can leave them hanging from the crank case. And now due to a wire, I moved the black air box to the front of my engine bay so that it was out the way.
I then removed the belt from the supercharger + alternator side of the engine (you can do this first before taking anything off the engine, whatever you fancy!)
You have the supercharger exposed now and there are 6 star bolts holding the top of the supercharger casing to itself, undo these and you can then remove the supercharger casing.
the supercharger is now exposed and if you’re reusing the gasket be careful in taking it off the supercharger, you don’t wanna break it (I know it’s better to get a new one but they’re hard to come by so I reused mine).
there are then 4 bolts I believe holding the supercharger to the actual engine, once you have undone these the supercharger is now loose. Mine took a big of wiggling and manoeuvring to find a suitable path out. I think I pushed it slightly towards the car (seats) and then rotated towards drivers side wheel and then it came out easily - might be wrong that’s the best I can do from memory!
