Uk to Budapest in eight countries

Just got back from a great three week tour around Europe in the SLK. Destination Budapest in Hungary but took in eight countries as well. Nine including UK. 2738 miles, 4407 km and 55.3 mpg 5.1l/100km.
that might not seem much to our friends in the USA, you probably drive that far to buy milk 😁, but seems a long way to me.
We decided to explore some former eastern bloc countries including East Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary and well worth it, they are each so different and all spoke perfect English. So strange when a Slovakian girl aged about 7 asked us something outside a shop. We said sorry we were English and did not understand and she immediately swapped to English and held a perfect conversation for some time. I feel quite useless at languages in comparison.
If you get the chance do tour these countries. We only saw one other SLK, in Den Haag (The Haigh) in Netherlands so they are quite a novelty compared to the numerous 911,s. We even saw more AMG GT,s.
Car ran perfect, fuel economy was a lot better until we did some higher speed autobahn runs.😳
Hope you like the pictures and it may inspire you to do a similar trip.
Any guesses what the plane is parked outside some apartments in Slovakia..

No expert on planes but first instinct was Dakota.
Reminded me of a photo from my fathers service in later years of WWII. Not quite the same, but similar.

Of course, I could play it safe and say ā€˜stationary’.

Sounds like a great trip.
Hope to see and hear more.

My Lady and I visited the Wilhelm Bauer (nee U2540) last year. A very impressive boat.

Prague is lovely. I did not know but Czech republic is two ancient countries, Bohemia to the west, (beer and industry) and Moravia to the east, (wine and amazing countryside) both are amazing and price is about 30% less than uk.
