Hello everyone.
I recently bought a post facelift Slk r170.
It’s a late 2000 model 200 kompressor and I am trying to restore her as best as I can, with a lot of personal work.
I recently bought and replaced the rims with the original 17” AMG ones.
Since then the ABS and BAS/ESP light has started going off at regular intervals.
Up until now I have managed to reset it by recalibrating the steering wheel (with the engine switched off).
The time has come for me to actually buy a reader and look at the notifications and see if a speed sensor is faulty or what causes the lights to turn on.
I have read almost everything on the forum and I wish to thank everyone for sharing their knowledge, especially Dave who has been very helpful.
However every thread is quite old and I wanted to know which diagnostic tool is the best to purchase at this current moment.
I am not looking to open a repair shop just yet but simply to see the faulty codes and reset them.
Meaning that my budget is around 200-400$.
can anyone please advise me on how to proceed?
I also own a 2013 - B180 W246 and a 2011 - C180 that I might need to scan for any faults.
Thanks in advance.
