Hello,

It has not been possible to find any information regarding this, so here goes: I own a Foxwell NT530 Plus scanner, which I would like to be able to use on my 97´ SLK with the 38 pin connector. Does anyone know if the adapter on attached picture is enough to be able to connect? I read somewhere that a so called "multiplexer" is also needed. Can anyone please enlighten me

Short answer NO:

MayBe if you send them a quick email with your exact model (scanner model) they can advise, as there are plus and pro models...

No it's not. You need to buy the adaptor from Foxwell. It's the set up I had before I switched to SDS. I bought one of those adaptors just after I bought my car and it certainly didn't work. The start of a big learning curve.

Well I changed to SDS when I'd read a bit more. Í was lucky to get one second hand.....they don't come up very often...... and sold my Foxwell. I always suggest contacting our guru @i860. However the 38 pin adaptor isn't expensive so maybe go for that and see how you progress.

My guess is you will take a year off your life seeking an adapter which looking at it if it exists it will cost as much as a new device.
I watched a guy on YT yesterday and he was making an appraisal of scanners.
He is not impressed with small hand helds but gave the MB version of iCarsoft 3.0 which at $

I expect that you will take a year off your life stressing to find this and the other bits if it exists and if you do find them the cost will exceed the $219 USD that an iCarsoft MB V3.0.
I watched a guy on YouTube yesterday rating scanners. He has no use for cheap hand helds but he made the point that while not a full MB scanner the iCarsoft MB V3.0 is a very good choice particularly for occasional home use.
I have been very pleased with mine in V2.0 and it is updated to current specs.
I don't use it every day but I used it today.

Really?

Mind you it won't work with the OPs model :ROFLMAO:

I had bought the Foxwell nt530 with the Benz 38 pin adapter, no problems it helps with the older Benz's. Lifetime update no charge. Add different vehicles.
My opinion is that it works for what I need.
