R172 Roof Delaminating

Sad to hear. Maybe its an good Idea to drive to an MB Dealer. The first SLK R172 got these Problem and MB Changed the whole Roof Panel wit one of Glas Roof wich doesnt Delaminat. MAYBE they send a Warrenty Question to MB and they take care. I know our Cars are old but they also change the Axis due to Corrosion Problems until now. Its maybe just a call.

Hi David,
Tiger seal is not appropriate for fixing the de-lamination issue. Its is much more of a sealant than a strong adhesive. You will need something much stronger. My SLK roof was sealed by a body shop using the stuff they they fix windscreens with, although I dont know the name of the adhesive but it has worked well. A body shop did it for me . It involved clamping the roof parts while the glue set. Its VERY important to clamp the parts or the front seal wont keep the rain out. Permabond will probably have a suitable adhesive.
Unfortunately, you will have to strip off the Tiger Seal to make any new adhesive effective.

@davidruelns We don't know where you OR what model SLK you have so:

It's to your benefit and is much easier for members to see your car (YEAR SLK "MODEL" and nothing else) details in Vehicle Details and where you live in "Location".
