SLK 230 Evo IC upgrade afterthough

Question to anyone who done IC upgrade on SLK 230 Evo - what are your afterthoughts after some while? Was it worth it, any noticeable changes?

Maybe a little backstory. So I used to run SLK 230 Evo with bigger crank pulley (Carlsson CK23 kit). I've dynoed the car several times and depending on tuner shop and day, dynos showed anything between 209HP/298NM to 224HP/325NM. I have also replaced regular air filter with the sport one from K&N as that kind of filter was in orginal Carlsson kit installed by the first owner.

Recently I have also put modified supercharger - replaced bearings, ported and pulley changed to smaller one 65mm. I have also removed that plastic muffler from sc intake (finally I can hear supercharger whine :) ).

Now the car in low and mid range feels beefier but at high revs/red line it feels like nothing changed or even power dropped a bit. I checked intake air temperature and if you can trust Torque app data, with outside temperature 13-15 degrees celcius intake temperature was around 27-35 degrees under normal driving condition. When I started to rev the car, intake temperature increased to over 40 or even 50 degrees. At WOT and hitting red line the highest temperature recorded was 65 degrees.

I know that IC upgrade is a popular mod suggestion here, especially when someone changes pulley (min you I have now both crank & sc pulleys changed). However, amongs voices supporting IC upgrade, there were also some strong arguments that IC upgrade is not necessary and gives very little. I also asked local tuners about it and one said that IC upgrade is crucial, the other said that is not needed - go figure.

I plan to dyno my car now after supercharger change. But I am wondering to do it now as it is, check AFR with the dyno and based on the results go forward with mods or leave it as it is or drop IC upgrade, maybe also injectors upgrade (have them already from Audi 1.8l 225HP, they fit p&p but when I ran them before sc upgrade, ECU reported fuel mixture too rich so I reverted changes) and then dyno the car. I am aiming anywhere at 240-260HP/340-380NM so if current mods will support it, then I will leave it as it is.

Anyway, so back to my initial question - does any one who had IC upgraded have any afterthoughs, dynos, acceleration times, etc? Was it worth it? Especially if IC upgrade was done after pulley upgrade?
Also are my intake temperatures fine or way too hot?

I have upgraded to a 550x230x63 intercooler with custom 2.5 inch piping. More noise, more pulling, less heatsoak. I recommend it and I can provide some pics if you want. No bumper cutting needed, only cutting a bit of the front tow hook. What injector part number were you using from 1.8T BAM? Stock EVO injectors are Siemens deka high impedance, 1.8T's EURO4 are Bosch low impedance (the light blue ones).

As a general comment on super/turbocharged inlet temps, 65 is way way too high. It's impossible to talk about specific temps because there are too many variables but the work you have done deserves a much more efficient intercooler. As a general rule the biggest air cooled IC that will comfortably fit behind the grille would be appropriate.
