I can remember when I was younger, days above 30c were considered hot. Now it seems to be what we need to expect, with another 3 days this week forecast to be in the mid-30s and exceptional days being 40c+

As for rain, we did have 1-2mm overnight a couple of weeks ago, but I think it was mid June since we last had any meaningful rain in the southeast.

Its good for getting the top down but not much else.

Had to go to in-laws to meet stairlift guy.

Might as well run 350 again.
Back lanes, sun, no traffic. Smashing.

Go outside for a smoke whilst waiting.
OH, NO! It’s gone.
Then notice wife gone and her C class still there (she stayed in case fil fell whilst lift U/S).

Apparently it was saw, wanted, took. Must have Roman ancestors.

She brought it back, lift sorted and I scarpered pdq.

More lanes and home.

Reminded me of the first up gets keys days when we only had one SLK, a 230.

Now to hide the 55 keys. Like porn, they go on the top shelf where the vertically challenged do not see.

She is welcome to use it, but the compulsory ‘make sure to fuel’ convo comes first.

Top down early morning jaunt to warm her up, then off for the MOT (UK annual roadworthy test) and a service.

She passed the MOT - no advisories!

Top down afternoon drive home.

Tad warm picking her up

Bet it needed fuel. Or tyres.
OhNo.

She was really good.
Left me a 35 mile range in the tank. Enough to get home.

Tyres ok for now but come mot….
I do not apply the 3mm rule to her cars.
She wants 3 mm, she buys.

No photos so I dont get told off again for not cleaning my car 🤣
If it makes you feel better, I washed mine before the MOT - it's parked next to a farm track, so kinda gets dusty!

My daily drive needs a new front tyre so been forced into the SLK for a couple of days.

80 mile drive to the Reading office yesterday and a shorter 10 mile commute to the train station today.

I love my SLK

This is how they became hairdresser cars.

Man cars should be unkempt.

Colour of car matters too.

Her purple 350 never really looks dirty, even when it is.
My tanzanite looks dirty, even when ‘rellativly’ clean.

Car works, roof works and Blighty is sunny
I’m happy.

No, no open roof today.

After probably the best UK summer in donkey's years for going topless , I now think the days are numbered as the weather has definitely turned cooler and a lot wetter . So any chance for going topless is still taken . And the usual UK Bank Holiday ( public holiday ) wet weather didnt let us down today , so enjoyed the top down time even more .

Drove home in brilliant sunshine from the Olde Bell in Hurley today. Even the Henley bridge is less of a pain when one is enjoying SLK smiles per gallon! Henley, Benson, Wootton, Farmoor - a pleasant Thameside tootle, apart from nannying speed limits!

The Olde Bell is almost 900 years old now!
