My route will be similar to this.

I live just east of Pittsburgh, PA, and my furthest point will be the "Northwest Angle"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northwest_Angle
Which is a stub of Minnesota that you have to drive through Canada to get to. I was wondering if anybody lives along that route, or if anybody has suggested stops. I will be passing through Harrison, MI at some point to visit my Sister, other than that it is pretty open. I was thinking of stopping here in Barrie, ON.
Barrie Brewery | Craft Beer Brewery | Redline Brewhouse
I will probably be taking the trip in 2-5 weeks, not sure when yet. And it will probably be a 6 night, maybe 7 night trip.
I didn't know where to post this thread, since I live in Northeast region, but will be in Canada and Midwest regions as well.

Good luck, and hope you get better weather than we are having over here!
I was aiming to visit Devon (don't have my SLK YET!) but the weather is not looking very good for next week.

Drove from Moose Jaw to Winnipeg last year. Worst roads I have ever driven on. Huge pavement heaves, especially in Winnipeg. I took the road out of Winnipeg and as soon as I crossed into the US the road was great.
Winnipeg is a nice city. I just couldn't stand to drive on the roads and couldn't wait to get out of there.

....will be interested to hear your opinion of the roads should you go to Winnipeg.

I did go there, and the roads were fine once I got onto actual pavement. I didn't like the absolutely horrible lack of traffic flow and unsynchronized lights. I could see a revolt in any real city if it was that bad with that small amount of traffic.
My only real road issues were the unexpected distances of unpaved roads, mainly from Angle Inlet, Minnesota to East Braintree, Manitoba. The unexpected high heat put a bit of a damper on it for me as well. I didn't expect low/mid 90s (low 30s C)

Well I did wash the car in the rain the other day, and drove in a couple of downpours. Still a good bit of bug guts left, I will move up to actual bug remover now. It is amazing where all the bugs were. They were on the sides of the car where any bulges were, even near the back. I though I had a dent/scrape from a red car on the quarter panel, and it was a red bug guts smear. The only thing I noticed that I don't think was there, was a chip/scuff on one of the spokes of a back wheel. I don't know how it happened, but should clean up fine, and re-paint/re-clear.
One other note on long drives that matches up with something else I read. Since I got the car in February, I have had to add oil 3 times. I drive it every day, and have noticed a puff of oil smoke on startup a couple of times. I read that someone else had that, but when driven long distances in short times, no addition oil consumption, indicating it is the startup, or the sitting that is the cause.
I drove just over 3500 miles, and had just changed the oil the week before. Minimal to no oil loss the whole trip. Probably another car with a stupid vent system that will collect actual oil in it, and gets burnt off on start up. If it doesn't lose oil when actually driving, nothing really to worry about.
