In a thread here, there is a hi-jack going on about what people call their cars. (What else?)

I call my SLK Alice as in SLacK Alice.

Does you car have a name, and is there an interesting story behind that naming?

Lawnmower, because it's dwarfed by my other cars, and it chews up most of what it encounters. I occasionally also call it "Silky" as an off shoot of SLK, it just seems appropriate.

Not very original I'm afraid. The night before I test drove it, I was reading up on AMG and how they called their '86 W124 (I'm a 124 fan) 'The Hammer'. I wasn't expecting it to feel so much more brutal than my old 928, and when I stepped on the gas, I thought, 'This thing really does hit you like a hammer' - and it stuck. Oh well...

Guys at work started calling it "The Batmobile" or the "UFO". After being asked "What kind of car is that?", a dozen times, "UFO" stuck...and seems somehow appropriate for the mental image I have of my rocket ship. Nice to still feel like a little kid in your 60's.

You sure they weren't giving you an instruction? ;)

Here's a good driving song for you :tu: :

El Gato *****

I call mine "El Gato *****" The Black Cat. Why? When handled right, it purrs like a cat, but stepping on it's tail, it roars like a Tiger.

And to match it, I have a black dog too, and he loves to ride in it :)

Queen B. The rice rocket. Only cause I am half asian. But I try very hard to keep myself from "rice-ing" my car out. So far, it is all stock outside (except LED lights) and mostly electrical mods.

Ever since my teens I've always given my cars a girls name, and the name has always been choosen some what by the car 😅.

So our Slk is named Artemis after the goddess of the hunt and her symbol is a bow which is perfect as the slk is going to be our silver arrow (track car).
The shogun is called misty because it mists up 😅 and the other two mercedes are Christine (after the steven king car) and ruby (because shes red and racy lol).

So whats your car called and how did you come up with the name? or is it just a soulless piece of metal 😬.

Jeff….that post is from 2013? It will not allow us to input anything. SO….as the expression goes…
“What’s a girl to do?”

BTW, our red car is named “Christine” (think S. King) and the red Red Car is named “Elisa”.
My little red car is called 'Little Red'. Spent ages thinking that one up:D
