I’m struggling finding a place to take my SLk 320. I took it for a transmission service and all they did was a flush. They didn’t change the filter at all. My husband was pissed. He told the technician that was like taking a shower and putting dirty underwear back on. The tech said it would have cost another hundred dollars. We asked for full transmission service…. Not a flush. He charged me $420 just to flush it with no filler replacement. Not going back there. However, I still have a dirty filter. The tech said with the car only having 67k miles on it, he didn’t think it needed a new filter. I said that was a question you should have asked me before just not doing it. A phone call would have solved that problem. But, you didn’t even offer.

Good evening, allow me to boast. I managed to activate the Active Braking System and ESP. Someone had hidden the faulty system by removing the BAS/ESP indicator bulb. I replaced the bulb (the faulty systems). After replacing the clutch and brake pedal sensors and the steering calibration, the systems came alive. The cruise control also came alive!

Best regards!

I installed Mid City Engineering Smart Start (Remote Starter). Hands down the best (not the easiest) mod to a car EVAARRrrrrr….

word to the wise, do NOT follow the instructions (SLK grouped with CLK, etc). Just remove the drivers side kick plate and the ignition switch. The mess of wiring you see here was COMPLETELY unnecessary! I S-T-R-U-G-G-L-E-D with the blue plug on the EIS literally for hours bc I followed their directions. All I had to do to begin with was remove the EIS and drop it down by the pedal.

Hi,
I installed Mid City Engineering Smart Start (Remote Starter). Hands down the best (not the easiest) mod to a car EVAARRrrrrr….
Why is that the best mod to your car?
What can it all do...? What's the purpose, the advantage, the plus?
(I don't want to start remote... If I can do that, other dodgy smart guys can do that to...)
I would spent my $550+ to other things... petrol, LPG, Airbnb... 😎

Well, today I celebrated 21 years of SLK32 AMG ownership! Ironically, I wasn't far from the dealer from whom I bought it all those years ago!

With these very hot temps in the UK, it was aircon not top down time! It was interesting to note how the engine temp seemed to run towards the +95°C limit more often with the aircon running - engine load, I guess?
